  • Disabled people's access policy

  • For detailed information about accessibility at our station and the help available, visit our station pages.

If you need help, please contact the train operating company that you are traveling with. Each station's disabled access page includes the mobility assistance telephone number for train operators who use that station, or you can contact your train operator.

Information about stations managed by train operators is available at National Rail Enquiries.

    Our policy

We recognise our obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and we are constantly working to improve access for our disabled passengers at our stations:

    • For wheelchair users and those with impaired mobility, we have installed lifts and ramps, improved car-parking spaces, made toilets accessible and introduced mobility assistance buggies where operationally possible.
    • For people with impaired hearing, we have installed induction loops at information offices and text phones at station receptions.
    • For people with impaired vision, we have installed high contrast wayfinder signage around our stations. We also introduce tactile paving when making changes to our stations.

Whenever we rebuild or refurbish a station, we always follow guidelines of the Equality Act 2010 and make sure that all platforms are accessible for wheelchair users and others with impaired mobility.

If you would like to find out more about our disabled people’s protection policy, we have published our generic statement of policy, Making Rail Accessible, which applies to all of our managed stations:
